recurring tasks disappear after checked off as completed

When I complete a recurring task the task doesn't appear on today's list of completed tasks. Instead the task just "disappears". After spending some time searching for the task, I realized the task was listed as completed for a totally different date.

Here's what I had:
daily recurring task with date of creation 9/15/06

After I checked off the recurring task as done on 10/17/06, it was listed as complete on 9/20/06!!!

I tested it again with a brand new recurring task but that seems to work properly because the creation date is the same as the date when you check it off as done.

I believe this has something to do with the date of creation for the recurring task but I'm not totally sure.
