Recurring tasks are assumed complete if date has passed?

In VIP Organizer I created a recurring task to do every month, the first day of the month, with the first occurrence to happen 01/01/06. The date past and I did not complete the task. However, the VIP Organizer now shows a new due date for this task of 02/01/06! Can you fix the software so that it does not show the next recurrence due date until the current one is completed? Or is there something I'm not doing correctly?

Thanks for the note. It's not the first of that kind, but has no universal solution. We consider possible solutions for this issue which would satisfy all users.
