Choose which categories to view

I'd like to add View > Categories... on the main toolbar.

This would be followed by a list of all all categories, each of which you could check or uncheck.

The would allow us to omit any categories that we don't want to see, for example those we don't intend to act upon right now.

This would help to isolate really important tasks.

Alternatively, this might be an option on the Filters Bar*.

Thanks for request.
You can omit categories you don't want to see by selecting those you want to see. Press Ctrl + Alt and choose necessary categories by left button clicks of your mouse. In future we wil make this process more intuitive.
