PIM application: efficient solutions for organizing your life and work

You probably tried to find a PIM application (personal information manager software) but you might have been lost for a while since there are lots of products on the market that are branded as a real solution, actually, most of these applications does not provide effective tools for personal information management. In fact, they all share one thing: they have no proper understanding of what 'Personal Information Management' is and what exact functionality they should have.

So the question 'What should a PIM application do?' arises naturally. The major thing it should do is to help you manage and save your time. You should be allowed to create to-do lists, schedule events and appointments, set e-mail and pop-up reminders, and manage contacts and notes. - Task scheduling. In the PIM product each task can be planned and scheduled by using such parameters as Priority, Due Date, Estimated and Actual Time, Task Recurrence, Days Left, Reminder Time and others.
- Task filtering and grouping. The way to track and monitor current progress of your tasks is to use Filter Bar and to group tasks. In PIM product you can filter tasks by any parameter, for example, by Status, Due Date, Complete and Priority. Your task list can be grouped and should allow you to track tasks easier.
- Notepad (task notes). The application supports RTF task notes so you can write text in task notes and save information for future reference.
- Contacts manager. In the program you can create a list of tasks that are associated with persons and their contact information.
- Multiple databases. In the PIM product you can create several databases and keep there personal information. For example, one database is for office use, another one is for home chores. You can use USB drive to store the databases.
