Task Management Software
"This software rocks golden. Have been looking for this thingy a long time now. My search is over." |
Tommy Hofton - Eggedal, Norway |
" Although I use Microsoft Outlook I found that
the task tracking in your software has a better view and layout than Outlook. I like
the way that icons can be used for different categories, and the different colours
that are used in the main task list make it easier to get an overall
picture of outstanding issues." |
Christopher Jones - Arundel, AU |
"I have a purchased copy of VIP Team To Do List. Has to be one of the best products I have ever purchased. Well worth it." |
Chad Lindsey - Honolulu, HI |
"I like the layout, categories, sorting, filters, and customizable print report. I love being able to change info on multiple tasks at once & being able to right click to change info on tasks." |
Imelda Armstrong, - Salt Lake City, UT |

Groupware
Groupware Definition
|
|
Groupware is technology designed to boost the productivity of work groups. This shared environment interface technology is used for computer supported cooperative work (CSCW). It supports groups of people engaged in a common task or project and enables users to communicate, cooperate, coordinate, solve problems, etc.
|
Groupware Benefits |
Groupware is used for a variety of reasons, however, the main reason is collaboration within the team or employees. These are some of the most common reasons people want to use groupware:
- allows companies to share information better.
- allows companies to solve problems collectively, saving time and money.
- enables communication where it wouldn't otherwise be possible
- enables real-time collaboration when it would otherwise be impossible
- saves time and cost in coordinating group work
- enables new modes of communication, such as structured interactions
- fosters a greater understanding of the targets and goals of business or projects
|
|
Groupware Types |
|
Groupware types are typically divided into two primary solutions: "realtime" or "synchronous" groupware that allows simultaneous work and "asynchronous" groupware that allows work at different times. These types may belong to "colocated" ("face-to-face") collaboration when users are working together in the same place or "non-colocated" ("distance") one when they are located in different places. |
Synchronous Groupware |
VIP Task Manager is synchronous collocated groupware for task management. This client/server software allows planning, scheduling, sharing, tracking and reporting tasks, appointments, projects, and any company activities. Authorized users can simultaneously access the common database through Local Network (LAN) to see, add, edit and delete their team or personal tasks, if they are grunted appropriate permissions.
|
|
Asynchronous Groupware |
VIP Team To Do List is asynchronous non-collocated groupware for task management. It is single-user system that allows team leaders and team members to create, manage and share to-do lists within the team by sending individual to do lists via e-mail or publishing them on corporate website.
